Fivemack asked if I could consider friends-locking the revision posts.
Short answer, I would do it if I could but can't work out a way to do it.
Long answer, as this is a topic that I'm happy to have public, I don't think that I want to restrict it away from the general public. If there was a way to have 'general public except for XYZ', I'm happy to go for that, but from a cursory reading of the custom friends lists setup, there doesn't appear to be one. I haven't gone in for custom friends lists in the past, so I don't know what other options I might have. [They're a bit of a scary exercise, really ;)]
I've tagged all the revision entries 'revision', so there may be a way to filter them out on the client side. Again, I've never used any of these features, being happy to read anything that people send, but maybe someone will comment with a way that this would work.
If both these methods fail, which I suspect they might, you have either got the option of suggesting an alternative, coping with it, or unfriending me for the duration of the revision (or permanantly, I suppose).
With regards to coping with it, I don't expect there'll be more than about three more revision posts (although I reserve the right to change my mind). It's only really broad-brush areas that I want to write out to check that I believe in what I think the correct structure is, and I think I've got a handle on most of that. In the past I've used IRC, but thought it would be more friendly to use an opt-in method such as LJ to write it out (plus then I have the oppotunity to correct any mistakes that I make).
With regards to unfriending, feel free to do so. It's not as if I've made more than ten posts in the last year, so you, the hypothetical reader, aren't missing much. And while I'd miss the locked posts, when push comes to shove, it's your decision about whether I read them or not. Don't worry. I won't take it personally.
