Again, I've had long discussions about whether it's true or not, but never heard it referred to as Hume's Law.

Me too. Based on this and the previous poll, I'm beginning to wonder whether Hume (or his later followers) just went around putting his name to lots of general principles, which did and still do manage fine without.

Wikipedia is crap. Both in concept and in general, but specifically for philosophy, being mostly written by idiots who have an interest in the subject but no actual training and who probably think that Douglas Hofstader is a philosopher.

The concept certainly isn't new to me, but the name is. I blame that half on my ignorance of technical terms, and half on it being a very obvious thought (although I don't find the validity of it as obvious).
